Many people on the streets were thinking this, as the sun was shining brightly on this clear, warm day. A pleasant breeze was blowing, one that was only enough to make the wind chimes stir, so a pleasant tinkling sound could be heard when one would walk up and down the street.
Well, almost everyone was happy. Durza cursed as he pulled his cowl tighter, muttering about how the bloody sun and it giving him a rash. His business in Uru'baen today was too important to worry about the Sun however, as he had important news to give to the king, news that couldn't be trusted with anyone else.
But if his news was so important, then why was he pacing the streets? He pondered this himself, as Galbatorix didn’t often put a meeting with Durza onto the "later" list. Most of the time, the king would demand to see Durza as soon as the Shade entered the City. It's probably because I haven’t been able to get anywhere with the elf... She did seem surprised that I knew her name however... The Shade sighed again, finding refuge under one of the many street shop awnings. Interestingly enough, he had picked the awning of the finest armory in town.
Walking inside, he smiled. One thing he appreciated was fine craftsmanship, and the owner of this shop evidently put quite the amount of passion into his work. Giving the shopkeeper an incline of the head, he indicated the fine displays of craftsmanship around him. "Quite the weapons." The man gave a feeble smile in return, as Durza was well known around the capitol for his temper and lack of remorse or a conscience for that matter.
Making his way to the armor section, one piece caught his attention. It was an impressive piece, set with flame-like red jewels and flanges off the shoulders that had the appearance of flames. He reached out to touch it, but a small "ahem" from behind him caught his attention. The man behind the counter received one of the worst glares that he would ever receive in his life, but he bravely continued. "I am so sorry sir, but that particular piece is being held..." Durza's glare intensified. "What is your price. The man protested, but Durza's glare only intensified more. Quailing under the now ferocious glare of the shade, the man stammered an apology. "It is being held for the king, sir... he expressed a great interest in it, saying something about it being of use to even a rider..." Durza snarled, but there was nothing he could do. "Well then... I guess I can’t buy it, or steal it..." He sighed, looking around for a bit. "Very well then, that is all.
He walked out of the shop, and over to a tree, as the sun was reaching its highest point in the sky. Man... It's hot out here. At least the shop was cool... He sat down, arranging his sword so he could sit comfortably.
Now bored, he began to observe passerby, occasionally breaking into their minds just for fun. However, while he was leisurely scanning for a third victim, he found a mind that was extremely well defended. Smiling, he began his assault, lightly, as he wasn’t in the mood to waste the energy of breaking someone’s mind.
Still, the mind had some familiarity... Who are you? A mind this fortified, you must be quite the magician...

"Oh dear my dear Durza."
A hiss resounded from behind the shade, as a bulky body caused the crowd to part to allow him passage. "Your childrens games will not touch me shade." The lethrblaka said, tainting the words with mockery. He shook his head, letting off a glare at the shade before stretching his wings out to a mesmerised crowd, their bodies held to the spot by curiousity, but their minds demanding them to run from the merciless creature they called Argiothorpian.
"Galbatorix sent for you."
Finally delievering the news he had left Helgrind to tell the shade, which the king could probably have sent with magic anyway. It was not often he said things, usually they left his mouth in a snarl or a sarcastic laugh, but the shade had powers he respected. Occasionally feared.
They would have a fight perhaps, and who would know who could win. His magic conjured things from a realm he would rather die than visit, but it would take him but a few moments to rip his head from his shoulders. So easy, so very tempting. That would put that stupid shade in line.
"He wants to hurry shade," said the lethrblaka, once again lacing the word with mockery. "I suggest you take that course of action. Unless you're stupider than I think you are." Returning his voice to a snarl, he turned at the onlookers with a screech. "King's buisness commoners, leave before I tear your heads from your shoulders."
"He is impatient to hear news he has awaited for too long. Could it be about the dragon egg that was stolen from him so long ago?" He said, adding the last part with a whisper. (Bah, short. Anyways, there you go. I hope you enjoy roleplaying with me.)

(Certainly will! btw, mine's not going to be much longer...)
Durza held a rising temper in check, keeping himself cool and calm. "So, the king wishes to see me, hmm? You don’t think I knew that? He turned me away earlier, saying something about more pressing business." Durza's voice dripped with derision and scorn. "Oh, and by the way, Lethrblaka, I have a name, and one of your weak position should refer to me by it." Durza's tone copied that of the enormous creature, and internally he smiled. Oh... that would be a fun fight... this foolish bat wouldn’t have a chance...
He turned to go, but the large creature's words about the egg made him turn. "Indeed, but this isn’t the place to talk of such things." Leaning closer, he returned the whisper. "It is about that d**n Egg... but it isn’t good... it is also about that accursed elf maiden I recently captured. Also, I gleaned a scant amount of news from the Elf, ad I will share it with you. She sent the egg towards Carvahall. That is all I am telling you, as The King will certainly fill you in on your mission." His smile became a knowing smirk, but he wasn’t about to elaborate.
However, some passerby became a little too interested in the two figures, and so Durza felt that it was due time to move on. Shaking his head, he returned to a normal posture, his voice returning to a normal volume as he did so. "Well... I mustn’t keep the king waiting. When did he specify that I see him? Was it an immediate thing? Or do I have the time to leisurely walk to the castle?”

"Elves?" He questioned the shade, surpressing a laugh. "You're wasting your time with those weaklings. They don't have the intellegence to take from them." The lethrblaka turned to look towards the castle looming over the city. "I wouldn't waste my time on a shade like you unless it was urgent, Durza. And at the speed humanoids like you walk, I would say you'd at least have to run."
"Do not be childish. I could as easily kill you as you could kill me. It would be a stalemate. You overestimate yourself if you think you could beat me in a true fight." He stretched his wings, hovering in the air. "And I have better things to do than play childrens games and have idle chat with a shade. So stop wasting my time."
The lethrblaka stopped for a moment, as if in thought. It had been a long time since he had been with his children, in fact Galbatorix was forcing him to work more often than he did. He longed to have weight on his back while he flew. Even if it wasn't the Raz'ac, it had been too long for Argiothorpian to bear. Even his mate was spending most of her time away from him, being forced to guard Helgrind.
"You need to hurry to the king. Get on my back." The lethrblaka growled at the shade. "That was not an offer Durza. Your pace is far too slow. You don't want to keep the lord waiting, do you?"

Durza couldn't help but laugh. "I am not wasting your time, we are wasting Galbatorix's time. If i must, I will catch a ride on your back, as it will greatly speed me to the king. Your offer is accepted." The Shade shook his head. "And as for the elves, they have knowledge of things that I do not understand. they would be quite helpful if we could learn their secrets... But that is nigh impossible, what with their stubborness..." Durza shook his head again, but stood up and stretched. Adopting a neutral tone, he looked over at the large creature. "Allow me to get on, as his Excellency awaits my news."

The lethrblaka made a quick nod, his beak cutting the air like a blade. Ridding himself of his two-legged stance, he rested his upper limbs on the ground. "I do have other things to do shade. Escorting you to the king is merely at the top of my list. You, however, don't seem to be doing much at all." The lethrblaka laughed at the shade, though his beak was lying near the ground. "I don't see why you're his right-hand man." "What secrets do elves have that poison or pain cannot yank from beneath them? If they won't tell you, kill them. Aren't you the one who contacts dead people? So why can't you just kill her then get that stupid elf to tell you her secrets." Argiothorpian snapped his beak, snatching a small apples from a nearby food stand and swallowing it whole. "There's no such thing as a stubborn prisoner /shade/. Only a captor not wise in arts of torture."

Durza tried to keep his comments to himself, but he needed to justify one point. "I would like to see you try and break an elf... especially the one chosen to guard that d**n dragon egg."
Durza Laughed. "Contact the dead? If that were possible then I wouldnt need to interrogate this stupid älf. I could just rip the souls of her compatriots out of their resting place and use them."
Making sure he was seated securely on the Lethrblaka's back, he looked around. "I do not wish to take up any more of you or His Magesty's precious time, so if you will, speed me to the dragon's entrance to the throne room. It will be the fastest."

"Hold on." That was the only warning he gave the shade before he began to take off. The lethrblaka braced his legs to prepare for the launch, before lurching into the air with a huge jolt. His wings spread mid-air, grasping themselves in a thick current of wind before he turned to the castle. The drops in the air were counteracted by flaps of the lethrblaka's huge wings. Argiothorpian turned his head to the shade, sighing at the feeling of being in the air again. "How do you enjoy flying Durza? Being above the clouds?" The lethrblaka stretched his wings further into a glide, staring into the distant horizon where Helgrind laid. He sighed, letting out a short screech as if to call his mate, and to call his Raz'ac to tell him that he would return. He quickly snapped out of his imagining of seeing his family, for now he had company to impress. "I have missed the clouds" he lightly said, in a barely audible whisper; though the words were lost on the wind.

Durza, who had been sitting very straight on the creature's back, forced himself to smile. his words came from gritted teeth. "I must admit, the view is amazing. now if you would, make haste to the king."
Durza wasn't a fan of heights. Sure, he could look down from the tallest building or mountain in the continent, but upon the back of a flying mount, everything was different. Pointedly staring straight ahead, Durza managed to controll his feelings of naseua and dizzyness.
The sooner we get there, the better. I absolutely detest flying...

The lethrblaka chuckled, cracking his head around to look at the Shade. "Don't lie to me, I find lies highly irrelevant; and besides you seem to be the dishonest type often enough. Why would you lie about such tiny things as well?" The lethrblaka turned away, plummeting into a quick dive in barely a moment; in that moment he passed under the clouds, revealing the nearby castle. "I'm not stupid. Avoid puking on my back."
Argiothorpian flapped his wings again, gaining a bit of height before swooping down again. Finally, he landed on the fortified walls of the castle. "Would you like to walk from here shade?" The lethrblaka questioned the shade; tapping his foot against the ground.

Durza lept off of Argiothorpian lightly and shook his head. "Thank you, but I think I'll run the rest of the way."
With that, Durza ran off. Luckily for him, being a shade meant that he could move ten times faster than any human, and coupled with the fact that the throne room wasn't too far away, he was in the waiting room approximately two minutes after he had lept off of Argiothorpion.
Glaring at the poor servant behind the desk, who had told Durza that the king was in a meeting, he commanded that a message be relayed. "Tell my leige that I have arrived with the news he desires. Give him this."
With that, Durza placed the letter from The King himself on the desk and returned to pacing about the hall.

The lethrblaka watched as Durza ran into the castle itself, and turned away in a moment. "Galbatorix hasn't summoned me yet." He turned his head to where Helgrind lay, hidden by miles of distance. Bracing himself for take-off, Argiothorpian leapt into the air and begun to soar towards the home of the Raz'ac.
Taking one final look at the castle where he was tortured into constant slavery. Even a moment of break was wonderful for him. In fact, the only thing he liked more was murder; and Galbatorix was letting him do that less and less these days. He sighed in mid-air turning away and swooping through the clouds into the distance.
(If you want to continue this RP, Durza had better get outside pretty fast xD)

(sorry... i had a mental blank... Forgot that Galby wasnt... here or active.) Durza glared once more at the receptionist, but nothing could be done.
Durza, I will summon you when i am ready. Be patient!
Durza bowed his head. Yes my leige. I will await your summons.[/b]
Sighing, Durza walked back out of the waiting room, out onto the courtyard. Finding a tree, he sat at the trunk, greatful once again for the shade it offered. "Curse this sun. It is way to hot."
Looking around, he noticed that the courtyard seemed to be awfully empty, the few denizens lookig into the air with frightened eyes. Durza's gaze went skyward, where he saw that Argiothorpian was hovering around. "Well... it looks like I didnt need to hurry after all... Do you know how scared you are making some of these fools?"
(mental communication, as you are too far away from teh castle to hear someone speak or yell. Sorry)

(Ummm, dialogue or something? Argiothorpian isn't even looking at the castle, and he definately doesn't like Durza enough to come back anyway just cause he's waiting there.)

(I edited it. Basically, Durza is using a mental link to communicate.)
