Your name: Shana
Other characters RPed on DRA: None, yet.
Character:
Name: Saphira
Age: Still in an egg.
Gender: Female
Race: Dragon
Allegiance: To Eragon, and the Varden.
Description:
On a cloudless day, the huge dragon would be near invisible high in the skies, her beautiful Saphire scales blend into the blue of the sky as if she was the sky itself. A messenger of a higher being. Perhaps, because the beast of wing and talon is a power few compare themselves to.
The creature of the sky wouldn't be named as such if she were without wings. The huge creature is held aloft by equally huge wings, from wingtip to wingtip she is just a big as from head to tail, the distance being at least 10 metres. Though, she doesn't often let people go close enough to measure it, so it is mostly just guesses.
The wings themselves are heavily scaled along the edge, before the edge fans out into a thin membrane lightly covered in feathers. Easily punctured, Saphira carefully protects her wings. Of course, if someone got close enough to damage them, she'd take them apart with half foot long teeth, as sharp as any blade.
Below the bridge of her head two eyes of teal lie, always watching. Just in front of them lies her jaw, the one that opens to the huge teeth I was talking about. As with her whole body, the scales across her face are Sapphire coloured. Her tail is as long as a whip, but not thin until it's very point. Along her whole back right up to the tip cobalt spines lie in wait for a flick of the tail to lodge them in a foe's neck.
Personality:
Saphira is usually very docile, when resting she is as calm as a mouse. However, she is an almost motherly figure to Eragon, having both the caring and worried side and the mad side when he does something without her approval. Which is odd, considering he is her senior in age.
Saphira tends to consider herself senior in intellegence and wisdom to anyone, and respects no-one that hasn't earnt it. If you disrespect her, you may find yourself doing a little research project on what it feels like to be devoured by a ten ton dragon.
History:
She was the first to hatch of the last three dragon eggs, though she had a lot of history before her hatching. For most of her life she was kept by Galbatorix or the Varden, until during a transfer by Arya Galbatorix's servants attacked her, and Saphira was transfered to the spire by way of magic. At the time Eragon was hunting for game, and he took Saphira's egg to his village.
After trying to sell the egg to many different villagers, and failing, Eragon returned the egg to his barn and Saphira hatched. Eragon hid Saphira in the woods, and barely a few months later, Saphira was fully grown.
Afterwards Saphira became the dragon Eragon rode. Cast out and let back in many times, Saphira has always stayed true to her rider, and the two now trust each other properly. Saphira has a lot of history after that, but I don't feel like rewriting the book in here.
Family: Two unhatched dragon eggs.
Other: She is very motherly to Eragon, but I've already said that.
Rp sample:
Eragon?... Eragon?...
Saphira looked around the forest worriedly. He had left her lying in the forest just a moments ago, but it seemed he had been gone forever. It hurt her, it hurt her soul itself just being away from her rider. Her heart, locked behind the Sapphire scales that protected her, longed for him. She rested her head on the blanket of pure snow.
Where are you Eragon?...
It was cold, and the blazing sun above was providing little warmth through the masses of clouds that shed snow from their bodies. Her eyes faded, the azure turning into an empty blue, as she wrapped her tail around herself to keep her warm. She sensed the humans presence nearby, but so very far. She was empty without him, and the cold was wrapping itself around her empty shell.
It was going to be a long night.
