Character:
Name:
Silestia,
Age:
216,
Gender:
Female,
Race:
Elf,
Allegiance:
Silestia is neither here, nor there when it comes to allegiances. On one hand, her kin the elves are a top priority to her. Should war come to both the Varden and the elves at the same time, she would help them first.
However, her time is spent with the Varden, as are her battles. Supporting their cause, she spends her time with them. However, although she lives with the Varden, and works as a healer, she does as she pleases. Not what another wants her to.
She is not known to work for the Varden, so often comes and goes from Imperial cities at will.
Description:
Silestia is a red haired maiden, with hair like a sandy flame. The shoulder length locks of straight hair are what hold her out of a crowd, in a world where black, blonde and brown hair are the most prominant. A trim cuts around her forehead, leaving short pieces of hair lying just above her eyes. She isn't vein about her hair, and rarely brushes it. It stays straight with little effort on her behalf.
Being elven, she is very tall. Seven feet balenced upon each other would be only slightly taller than the elf. Silestia herself is rather average for an elf though, and rarely bothers trying to impress someone with it. (WIP)
personality:

history:
Silestia was born in elven lands, regardless of the fact that both her parents worked for the Varden. When her mother was pregnant, she went back to her homeland to birth the baby, a girl born without the gift most recieve, born without a sense of smell. A sense many take for granted, many spend their nights in the rose gardens. Without it, Silestia was fearful of most things that are loved by others. The rose thorns mattered more to her then their lovely scent.
When her father left to return to the Varden, Silestia stayed with Melody and the elves, in hope her magic would blossom. Fine tutours were paid for, and her magic was astonishing for someone so young, she was only ten at the time. The fact being, she healed a wounded elf, a broken leg repaired, and it seemed like nothing to her. It seemed easy to her.
When Silestia came to the decision she could learn magic easily by herself, seeing as she was so amazing already, she left Du Weldenvarden. She survived alone both in forests and deserts, until she found her magic was poor, she just didn't know the ancient language well enough. By the age of twenty, she returned from her wanderings, and visited the Varden. There, she spent days upon weeks upon months upon years studying words of the ancient language, but that seemed to be all they were. Words. Not magic, just words.
Her quest for magic ended there, though she is constantly training the words she does know with magic in her spare time. The five words of magic, though limited, did not limit her use of the ancient language, which she could speak very fluently. The varden, sensing her great magical abilities, began to teach her even more.
By the time she was fifty, she left the Varden, exploring Alagesia as a free-lance bounty-hunter, catching foes of both the Varden and the Empire. Her life seemed shrouded with boredom, she never found a challenge. Magic had stopped interesting her a long time ago, and apart from her swordsmanship lessons from a fellow bounty-hunter, she didn't have anything to do in her spare time.
By the time she had been a bounty hunter for a hundred years, she quit. At a hundred and fifty she didn't have the interest in the profession anymore. After the years of being away, she finally returned to the Varden, and decided to base with them. And for the next fifty years of her life, she stayed there, healing their wounded and advising their soldiers.
family:
Her mother, Melody, was an ambassador to the varden, if a small and unimportant one. Her father is Tarlikal, a soldier and magician for the Varden.
She has no siblings.
other:
As for magic, she knows five words in the ancient language. Since she left the elves when she was very young, she learnt very few, though she trained under Varden sorcerers so she could manipulate the magic in the words.
The words:
-Vindr, air.
-Heill, heal
-Hljödhr, silent
-Hjarta, heart. Can be, but isn't, used to manipulate the feelings of others, though they cannot be feelings towards her.
-Draumr, dream
She can speak basic phrases, though her magic only extends to those ones.
She also has a horse called Losnaoro, who is a muddy black stallion who, while not graceful nor beautiful, she is very fast, and strong.
Silestia holds her sword, a short sword of little more than two feet long, with grace and dexterity. She has the speed in combat to beat most with a flurry of quick blows, but she has neither the endurance nor the raw strength to block a blow or last for long battles.
She couldn't use a bow to save her life. But, if she uses one, be careful if she aims for the person on the other side of the battlefield to you.
She cannot attack minds, but her magic is undetected to enemy magicians. She is an expert at holding her mind to herself, and as of yet only one person broke in, her first session of training mind defense.
