Nienna climbeclimbed of a large boulder that lay around one hundred feet away from the city gate. Even though she had been born only a few miles away from this Empire ruled city, she had never bothered to pass through it's shining gates. As the wind blew past her shining eyes, the clouds cleared away from the shore-side city, revealing its defensive layout. Below, her steed, Nadé whinnied, pulling her focus from the large city. "What is it?" she whispered, kneeling on the rock, so her hoarse could hear her. The oddly smart eyes of the brilliantly dark horse darted behind Nienna. Her hand slowly grasped her sword. In one motion, she pulled the sword from her sheath, and turned toward the intruder. Beside her on the rock, was a small bird, how looked up at her, and let out a pleasant chirp. Cursing her jumpiness, she slid her sword back, and looked down at Nadé. "Sometimes I think you're the smartest horse in the world...other times I wonder how you avoid tripping on flat ground." Nienna returned he gaze back to Terim, as she sized up the two guards. Both the Empire and Varden wanted her, neither specifying if they wanted her with or without life. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she leaped down from the large boulder, landing on a small patch of moss. "What do you think we should do, Nadé? Give it a shot, or find a new town?" she asked her horse, as she climed onto the steed's back. The horse let out another whinny, and Nienna nodded to the response. Acting as if she had nothing to hide, she approached the gates of Terim, letting Nadé walk at an easy canter. The guards halted her. "I don't recognize you..." grunted a guard, who smelled of a dirty barn. "You don't recognize anyone anymore!" yelled the other guard, who was dwarfed by the other guards size. "Shut up you!" yelled the first guard, as he started to approach the smaller one. The two began to fist fight, and Nienna watched for a moment, before descending through the gates. To conceal her identity, she pulled her cloaks hood up, and kept her head down, just to be safe. She passed by a large bulletin board, with all the towns announcements. Looking up, she saw a clear picture of her, when she was about 15. The words under the picture seemed to stand out, compared to the rest of the board. "Empire Fugitive: Wanted." Her blood went cold. Why didn't it say if they wanted her alive or dead? Her eyes scanned the page for a moment more, and she found the reward price. 'They must really want me...' she thought, lowering her head, and digging her heels into the sides of Nadé to make her slightly speed up. As she began to blend in with the large crowds around her, a loud yell behind her cut through the air. Darting a peek over her shoulder, she saw both guards charging at her. Quickly changing direction, she headed at the guards, and made Nadé leap over them, as keep running, until they were far out of the guards' reach. 'They either recognized me from my bounty picture, or they were angry that I went past without their consent.' thought Nienna, as she slowed Nadé, and leaped off the strong creature. Letting out a loud sigh, she stared at the distant city, wondering if she was ever going to penetrate it's border.

A young man stumbled out of the forest, dusting himself off and mumbling about how certain people would have been better off with rocks instead of brains in their heads. His long black hair was acting like a curtain over his face, unknown to him as his sightless eyes roved the area. His torn and ripped clothes were the only signs of his escapades in the spine. Being blind and irritated, Xepte didn't realize that he was standing approximately five paces away from a young lady and her horse until the creature snorted. In one fluid motion he unhooked the halberd from the frog on his back and scanned the area, his halberd held in a defensive stance.
After his mental scan he relaxed a bit, as there were no immediate threats in the surrounding area. He then turned to the being before him. Scanning her, he discovered that she was a young female, but he couldn't tell of what race. Bowing slightly, he restored his halberd to its frog. "Madam, I have two questions for you. First off; are you elf or human? and secondly, what is the name of the city that happens to be behind you?"
((if you dont want him here, say so and he'll be booted))

Nienna was already facing the direction of the intruder as he entered the clearing. "I am half human, half elf." she paused to look at the city that avoided her, "And behind me is the city of Teirm." She studied the being in front of her. "And who are you?" she asked, hoping that he would comply, since she had answered all of his questions to their fullest. Behind her, Nadé let out another whinny. Nienna put her hand on the steed to comfort it's distress from the stranger.

Xepte bowed. "Xepte Xamec, at your service. Once I lived in that city... but that was before Galbatorix..." Shaking his head, he pushed the curtain of hair away from his face.
Noticing the horse's fright, Xepte smiled. "Eka eddyr ai fricai." (I am a friend) Turning back to the young woman, he nodded. "You said you were half elf? How does one come to be 'Half' Elf? I myself have never seen or heard anyone claim such a thing... I am curious as to your appearance. The elves rarely, if ever fall in love with humans, and the results must be interesting..."
Xepte stretched a bit, and gestured towards the gates of Terim. "I would love to speak with you more on the subject, but right now I am hungry. I am going into Terim, as there is a place where the food is actually good, and they have many places where I can acquire a weapon. Would you like to accompany me? I am blind, and since blind men can't see, I might have trouble convincing the kindly guards to let me in... Unless I had someone that was traveling with me."

Nienna studied the man. The way he held himself, didn't give him the appearance of not being able to see. "I'll go with you..." she said, looking over her shoulder again, hoping the guards changed shifts, "And I guess I am a rariety...elves and humans normally don't have offspring." She paused for a moment considering her next words. He might know of her bounty...so to tell him would only get her killed. Nienna remained silent, as her horse watched Xepte oddly after the words were spoken in the ancient language.

Xepte grinned. "Allright, let's go! Im getting more and more hungry by the minute. I do have one question before we set off though. Do you have a strip of cloth I could tie around my eyes? I dont like feeling people stare at me, it's creepy..." Xepte sratched his head. "Wait, I lied. I have another question. It is the last one for now, but it is something I must know before helping you enter the city. Why were you refused entrance to Terim? You dont feel like somebody who is on the run from the king or anything..."

"Oh...you heard that?" she asked. Nienna wasn't sure if Xepte could be completely trusted, so she deiced to only explain it vaguely. "Well...I've done things that the Empire isn't a big fan of." she replied simply, while removing a strip of cloth from a blanket on Nadé's back. "And here's that strip of cloth you requested," she stated, heading closer to him, so she could complete the transaction.
The wind gave a sudden gust, causing Nienna to take another glimpse at the gates, over her shoulder. The guards were leaving so that others' could take their place. With a smile forming on her lips, she patted Nadé, who let out a happy whinny. "Ready?" she asked, looking over at Xepte.

Xepte laughed as he tied the strip around his head so it covered his eyes. "Oh, so you aren't a fan of the Empire, huh? Well, it is good to know I'm not the only one outside the Varden who thinks the same..." Deftly tying the cloth so it wouldnt fall off, he rubbed his stomach. Man.. it feels like I havent eaten for a month!
"And now, I am ready!" Smiling, he bowed. "Lead the way, for I know it not! Do not hide your face, as you'll make us look suspicious. Also, you weren't the one who the previous guards chased out, just in case they ask. I can sort them out easily if they try to hamper our progress."

"You're outside the Varden as well?" she asked, suddenly interested. Nienna kept her head up, as they approached the towering gate. Her heart pounded, as the guards eyed them carefully. 'Just think positive...how would they know that I'm the person who snuck in last time...unless they have seen my bounty poster............' The breeze wondered by her face, causing her tied back hair to blow in the breeze. This breeze amplified how quiet the guards were, who were studying them at the moment.

"Easy girl. Steady on there."
The huge mare female in front of the bard was ripping its head from side to side, and Tripudio feared the worst for his old horse. Stroking her across the mane, the horse continued to twist out of his grip, as if in a horrid fear of something. Tripudio sighed, placing his hand on the mare’s heart and lifting his harp from his back with the other.
"Be at peace, a final rest Close your eyes, a final sight Darkness surrounds, a final breath Before you wake to peace, the final day"
Tripudio whispered the poem into the mare’s ear, and the horse calmed at Tripudio's soothing voice. Still, the horse looked disturbed. Lifting his harp over his shoulder, the man leapt onto his horse. He slapped the horse's flanks with his legs before shooting out of Tierm, Lasnaoro looking more disturbed every step it took out of the city. The mare was tossing its head slightly from side to side while it watched the countryside wearily. A storm was slowly creeping from the distance, and Lasnaoro was a stallion who feared storms.
Tripudio tugged the reins to the left, directly away from the storm clouds. The mare thundered ahead, fleeing from the grey storm they seemed to leave in their wake. Her tail shot behind her as she shot forward, before hurriedly lurching backwards in a whiney. Barely a few meters ahead, two humans stood. But in this day, one cannot trust appearances.
"I apologise," Tripudio said to the figures standing in front of him, quickly dismounting his stallion; and adjusting his harp across his back. Noticing the cloth across the man's eyes; he realised how seemingly obvious it was the man could not see. "Well, well, well. A blind man and a woman, what are you doing outside Teirm in this day and age. The weather is not great either." Looking at the woman who seemed worried, he curiously delved into her. "Worried are you dear? The storm is indeed bad, it has Losnaoro worried as well."

[Sorry, I just saw what you wrote there Shana, and I couldn't help but reply. You said, "The huge stallion female in front of the bard was ripping its head from side to side" but a stallion is a male horse...A female horse is generally called a mare. An altered stallion is a gelding. Sorry for the interuption.]

(Hmmm... correction made, could you delete those posts? I’m sorry if I’m nit-picky, but it just looks cleaner... thanks)
Xepte was about to respond, but the young woman's sudden stillness and the presence of the guards made him stop. He shuffled forward to hail the guards, but before he could so much as utter a word, a young man on horseback came charging out of the city, causing the guards to jump aside in fear of their lives.
Grumbling, he turned his head to the newcomer. "Aye we're out of the city; what is the problem with that? I do not feel the storm of which you-“ a sudden gust of wind cut him off, and it was strong enough to knock him off balance.
Unfortunately, him being knocked off balance without a staff or eyes to aid in the re-balancing, he fell straight on his face. Growling, he slowly got up and dusted himself off. “Ok, so maybe there is a storm heading this way. Is there a particular reason you were headed out of the city at such an alarming pace?” As he said this, he motioned towards the gate. “I am still quite hungry, and I can smell food coming from the inner parts of the city. Shall we?”

Nienna smiled at Xepet's comments. "If these lovely guards will give us the go-ahead, then we'll proceed." she responded, quietly, staring at the figure who had emerged from Teirm. "And who might you be?" she asked, ignoring the man's previous comments. 'Great...more risk...it's only a matter of time before someone recognizes me...' Another gust of wind blew aggressively at them. Putting a supporting arm on Xepte's shoulder, she stared at the new comer more. Something seemed odd about the way he was rushing out of the city, like she had when her luck ran out only a few moments before.

Tripudio rolled his eyes as the blind man toppled over, Losnaoro merely stared at the two humanoids. "It's obvious you're hiding something," he said to the woman, ignoring the blind man for the annoyance he was causing him. "Worried the guards won't let you into the city? Really, that is the most stupid thing I've heard in my life. Unless you're hiding something illegal, what do you have to fear?" (Really can't be bothered to write more right now. Sue me for it.)

Xepte cleared his throat. "älfakyn! ono jierda iet mor'ranr!" (elf-kind, you break my peace) Looking forlornly at the gates for a bit, he decided to ignore his hunger... for the time being. "Well, If we are suspicious, I cannot imagine what you are, as you came charging out of the gates like the Wyrdfell were on your heels!" Another gust of wind tore across the area, and Xepte shook his head, growling. "We may want to continue this in a more sheltered area, No?"
